Sergeant 'A good plan is worth a thousand bullets' Krüger
March 08, 2013Edit June 4th: The Kickstarter is LIVE!! Click here!!
After Lady von Stroheim, here is dainty but deadly Sergeant Krüger, whose motto could be "A good plan is worth a thousand bullets".
As mentioned earlier, the Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Kickstarter is intended to feature not only the Rambettes (heroines and units), but also, if we reach the right stretch goals, their nemesis: another female faction with German and Prussian overtones and dark cyber technologies.
And for those who missed it, as some of you have already guessed, we are indeed working on a game and the the Kickstarters should help us release enough minis so that as soon as the rules are sufficiently functional, you'll be able to start testing them and give us your feedback.
See the links to all our kickstarter posts here.
TOUGHEST GIRLS OF THE GALAXY QUESTIONS
The waiting is excruciating. Any hints as to how long we will have to wait?
→ Well, we're still stuck with administrative delays, so that's giving us time to polish everything.
To comply with Kickstarter's requirements, we need a US bank to handle the Kickstarter funds, and while we had been assured that this would be done in a timely basis, it is not the actual case, and is essentially what we are waiting for.
Do you plan to expand the kickstarter upon reaching some stretch goal or simply add some more buying option for the miniatures?
→ Many stretch goals are planned, which will unlock new minis as well as goodies.
Sometimes it is possible participate in founding not using kickstarter but trough paypal. Will you provide such possibility?
→ Indeed, we know that it has been done before, so we'll likely look into it and try and make that option available.
Are you going to make tank crew miniatures for the Rambettes? I would love to have some 1/2 or 1/3 minis to put into the hatch of a tank!
→ So right!
Well, good news: the troops miniatures will be multiparts.
This means that you'll have torsos that you'll be able to use easily for that purpose.
We'll also have accessory kits that'll help build such characters (such as a pair of arms holding binoculars and pointing at the horizon, etc.).
“Rambettes” have to have bike squad!!! Heavy weapon choice as well! Will buy all of them! Thanks for “Rambettes”! Waited for them too long…
→ Done!
Will the current range be included in the KS? I may want to buy some minis, but don’t want to find out later that they’re part of the KS, and in essence have to consider whether I’d want to repurchase say a Manticore.
→ What will be in the KS will be the minis that match that particular KS. So, for example, there will be an option to acquire the current Kurganova models in the Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Kickstarter, and all our currently existing dark elves minis in the DE Invasion Kickstarter.
But we will take into account the fact that some of you already own these minis, and so, we will make sure that you do not find yourself in a position where you have to get them again in order to participate in a particular pledge level.
It sounds like you may be releasing some minis that I had described in a ‘Your dream minis’ email previously. Will you honor that pledge?
→ Absolutely, if you were the first one to suggest it.
However, we do receive a lot of submissions, so don't hesitate to be in touch if you see something that we release that was a suggestion of yours, in case we missed it.
QUESTIONS ON OTHER KICKSTARTERS
How about a kickstarter to finance the release of the supposed “finished products”? That way you can gauge if there is interest enough to warrant putting them into production. I really wanted the rest of the Sins. :(
→ That is exactly what we would have liked to do, however, as you already see, we have a lot on our hands with the 3 KS already. Nevertheless, we are looking at alternative solutions for the Sins, and are regularly improving their designs, so you can be certain that they will see the light of the day in the future.
Would LOVE to see a cavalry option for the Sisters of EM. In a Sci-fi setting that sounds like something that an ostentatious religious organization would field.
→ There could be motorcycle or jet-bike mounted sisters, but we're not sure yet.
Would like to see some jump infantry with the sisters. You build the ladies, and I will buy, buy, and buy.
→ If you're talking about the Sisters of Eternal Mercy, you'll get your wish!
You (Raging Heroes) wrote: 'We realized that, for some games, the Fantasy Blood Vestals would feel just a tad small/petite. However, we felt that it fitted well this particular unit of delicate yet deadly female warriors. For the upcoming Dark Elves releases, we will probably up their size and bulk a little bit, since everybody in the industry is slowly migrating to 32mm as opposed to the traditional 28mm found in Fantasy.' Does this mean that the current Vestals will be deleted from your range to make way for the larger scale versions for your Dark elf release. If so please keep the same poses.
→ Re-reading our post, we now realise that it was a bit confusing.
What we meant is that at this point in time, we are NOT planning to redo the Vestals in a different size because we feel "that it fitted well this particular unit of delicate yet deadly female warriors". However, we also meant that for the OTHER characters and troops, "we will probably up their size and bulk a little bit, since everybody in the industry is slowly migrating to 32mm as opposed to the traditional 28mm found in Fantasy."
Any chance of seeing a (dark)phoenix for your dark elf project?
→ Why not? It could be the opportunity to release the one we had done a lot of work on in the past.
Please make separate female and male dark elf units.
→ Making the exact same number of male and female dark elves means creating two armies instead of one. As it stands now, it is not quite a viable solution… This does not mean that we cannot find an alternate trick to make this work, though. We'll keep looking at it and listening to your suggestions.
At the moment the vestals are available in groups of 5. Will it be possible to buy in larger groups with only 1 standard bearer per unit because i will be ordering for units of 40+ figures and will have a surplus of standard bearers if i want as much variety in poses as possible. I imagine this will be the case for many people and concern all units.
→ This is a good question that we cannot answer right now. We're studying the possibility to work this kind of deal. The Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Kickstarter should give us insights on how best to manage this.
I do wonder if the Dark Elf kickstarter is going to feature Sci-Fi versions (I hope I hope) or if the dark elves are going to be re-released with mods for your sci-fi range later.
→ That's a very good question. We cannot answer it precisely right now, but there is a good chance that we create sci-fi versions of some of our dark elves. However, at this point in time, it's really too early to tell if it will only be one or two heroes or a full army, and if it will be included in the KS or not. In any case, let's keep this conversation going, we welcome your feedback on it.
→ BANNERS!
Well, as you know, to make this work, we need YOU!
A smart reader suggested that we provide banners to help spread the word on the Kurganova Shock Troops Kickstarter. So, DONE!
You can grab the banner below and link it to this Kickstarter page (https://www.ragingheroes.com/pages/kickstarter-news) we've set up (until the Kickstarter is actually live).
You can put it on your blog, or as your signature in forum posts, or anywhere else you can think of...
Or the French version:
→ Oh, and in case you haven't yet done so... please FRIEND US!
We've mentioned it before, but may we also strongly suggest that you ask us (Asharah Raging) as a friend on Facebook, (for communication purposes, "Friending" Asharah is more effective than "Liking" the Raging Heroes page). At this point in time, Facebook is probably the best way to get real time info on what's going on with our Kickstarter and other projects.
Asharah Raging is already up 420+ Friends since we've started communicating on this!
You can also follow us on Twitter. We're not very effective Twitterers yet, (but working on it); and all our Facebook posts do get an automatic Twitter update.
PS/ Want to make sure you know when we get started? Just sign up for our newsletter.
Want to help out? Please leave a comment below - just remember to use your actual email address so we can contact you (don't worry, it won't be visible online).
To make this happen, PLEASE, PLEASE, SPREAD THE WORD!
