Contest Winner 5 - You killed my father. Prepare to die.
March 07, 2016Day 5 of our contest saw the Iron Empires legendary duellist Arthemisia Rosenkrantz up for grabs!
Arthemisia is a great example of how much you can change the look and feel of a mini with a simple arm swap and alternate head. The two examples in our studio photo, were perfectly matched by your comments, some saw her as a duelling girl of action, while others a more commanding figure, surveying the battlefield and directing her troops.
In case you missed the previous posts, we streamlined all the entries down to our favourites and then randomly selected a winner from the pot.
On to the finalists for today…

This is a really nice piece. Outside the option to use her as a display piece, she would work very well in a sci-fi Victorian or pirate setting. I could see her as a rogue trader in a counts as army for 40k or an inquisitor.
Great suggestion Benjamin. I can certainly imagine her as a proxy Rogue Trader and she has the swagger and confidence down perfectly!
Volmer with:
She'd be the perfect psychic Inquisitor, popping out of a drop pod with some sternguard (granting prescience)
---- PPG with:
Inquisiteur avec Épée Énergétique et Pistolet Bolter pour l'inquisition à 40K
(Inquisitor for 40k with power blade and bolt pistol)
---- Kevin Guillotin with:
Perfect as an inquisitor in a 40k army!
---- Mark Lund
As it stands, for my 40k armies, I'd have her as an inquisitor without the rebreather mask. If I could get a fully covered face or hood, maybe a death cult assassin for my inquisitor retinue. Really like the carapace armour style she has.
We had loads of Warhammer 40K proxy Inquisitor suggestions and it's easy to see why. Inquisitors come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and Arthemisia would be a perfect fit as one of the more stern, hard line factions. Heretics beware!

I'd use it for one or two things. First as an Inquisitor for Warhammer 40k or I'd use her with a weapon swap as a Judge for Necromunda
Nice idea John and I think Arthemisia would probably quite enjoy her judge duties... particularly the chance to dish out some hands on justice now and again!
Paul Neher with:
I would use her as Commissar Commander for my WH40k Mordians (I love the look) but my wife would use her for her BAD CHICAS for Hounds of War!
Excellent Paul and I can imagine her inspecting the troops, pointing out a missing button or un-shined boot! I'm loving the sound of our minis in Hounds of War too and it would be great to see some photos?
Patrick Fish with:
I'm silly. I know. But an Eldar Autarch from 40k or a corsair Prince(cess) for the Eldar Corsairs. Such an amazing model.
Not silly Patrick, innovative and creative! Her precise pose would be well suited to a proxy Eldar role.
Brian Millar with:
40k Sisters of battle commanders, or necomunda or Kings of war Basilean Leaders.
Good thinking Brian. I hadn't considered using her in a fantasy setting! Although that's probably because my green stuff skills are awful and I'm useless at conversions :-) The sci-fi details are pretty light on her though and the high boots and duster style coat would certainly be in keeping, so I think you could be on to something.
Today's lucky winner however is Christian B Hou with:
She will be Countess Artencia De Levon, sister to Inquistor Althos De Levon and his Inquisitorial Acolyte, with her Family's ancient Entross Blade in hand she will have vengeance for the death of her mother. (Warhammer 40k Inquistor henchmen/Acolyte with master crafted power sword)
We had a lot of great Inquisitor proxy suggestions, so it was cool to see one with such a cool back story come out in the draw. I love the fluff text and it reminds me of Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride and his immortal line...
"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
I feel like I need to watch the film again now too :-)
Congratulations Christian!
OK, after a long wait we have the most epic firework display you've ever seen ready to go! Light em up!
...... What? We've had a letter from the Galactic Health and Safety Federation? I don't believe it!!! Give it here ......
Sorry folks, apparently ever since Star Wars blew a planet up without permission, they've introduced some new rules and we need a special permit.... back to the drawing board.
See you tomorrow for the next winner!
